Csvezetékeket, often translated as "copper pipes," are a common type of piping used in plumbing systems. They are primarily manufactured from copper, a metal known for its durability, corrosion resistance, and antimicrobial properties. This makes them a suitable choice for transporting potable water in both residential and commercial buildings.

The use of copper pipes dates back to ancient times, but their widespread adoption in modern plumbing began in the mid-20th century. They are typically joined using soldering or compression fittings. Soldering involves heating the joint and applying a filler metal that melts and flows into the gap, creating a strong, watertight seal. Compression fittings use a nut and a ferrule to create a seal by compressing the pipe onto a fitting.

Copper pipes offer several advantages. They are resistant to degradation from UV light and do not support bacterial growth, which can be a concern with some plastic piping materials. Copper also expands and contracts predictably with temperature changes, which plumbers account for during installation. However, copper can be more expensive than some plastic alternatives, and improper installation can lead to leaks or joint failures. In areas with very acidic water, copper pipes can corrode over time, though this is less common in typical household water conditions. Their rigidity also means they require more fittings for turns compared to more flexible plastic pipes.
