Coveringrelated

Coveringrelated is a term used informally to describe anything related to the notion of a cover in mathematics, and more broadly to coverings in other disciplines. In topology, coveringrelated ideas center on the concept of a covering map p: E → B, where E locally looks like a product of an open set in B with a discrete fiber. Objects or properties described as coveringrelated typically involve the structure of fibers, lifting properties for paths or homotopies, and invariance under coverings.

In a topological setting, coveringrelated phenomena include the existence of universal covers, the action of the deck transformation group on the covering space, and the correspondence between connected coverings and subgroups of the fundamental group.
