Covalentketjut, often translated as covalent chains, refers to the fundamental structural units found in certain types of solid materials. These structures are characterized by a repeating arrangement of atoms linked together by strong covalent bonds. Unlike ionic crystals which are held together by electrostatic attractions between oppositely charged ions, or metallic lattices formed by a sea of delocalized electrons, covalent chains are formed by the sharing of electrons between neighboring atoms.
