Coproporphyrins
Coproporphyrins are a group of organic compounds belonging to the porphyrin family. Porphyrins are complex cyclic molecules that form the core structure of vital biological pigments such as heme, chlorophyll, and vitamin B12. Coproporphyrins are distinguished by the presence of four propionic acid side chains and four methyl side chains attached to the porphyrin ring.
