Congonhas

Congonhas may refer to two places in Brazil. The first is Congonhas, a municipality in the state of Minas Gerais in the Southeast region. It is best known for the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus de Matosinhos, a major Baroque religious complex that houses the Twelve Prophets sculptures by Aleijadinho. The sanctuary is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site designated as the Historic Centre of Ouro Preto, Mariana and Congonhas, highlighting its artistic and historical significance and attracting visitors interested in Brazilian colonial art.

The second use of the name is Congonhas Airport, officially São Paulo/Congonhas–Airport (IATA: CGH). Located in
