Coldplay
Coldplay is a British rock band formed in London in 1996 by Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion. While studying at University College London, the group performed as Starfish before adopting the name Coldplay in 1998. They released their debut album Parachutes in 2000, which featured the hit Yellow and established the band internationally. The follow-up album, A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002), yielded singles such as Clocks and The Scientist and solidified their global profile. X&Y (2005) expanded their audience, while Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008), produced with Brian Eno, introduced broader art-rock textures and produced the worldwide hit Viva la Vida. Mylo Xyloto (2011) was a loose concept album blending pop, electronic influences, and rock, followed by Ghost Stories (2014) and the more collaborative A Head Full of Dreams (2015). Everyday Life (2019) explored wider sonic terrains, and Music of the Spheres (2021) continued their exploration of melodic pop and expansive production. The band is known for large-scale tours and visually immersive live performances that emphasize stage design and light shows.
