Cohortering
Cohortering is the process of organizing individuals into cohorts, or groups defined by shared characteristics or exposures, for the purposes of comparison, management, or resource allocation over time. A cohort is typically followed longitudinally, so its outcomes can be observed and contrasted with those of other groups.
In epidemiology and healthcare, cohorting refers to strategies that group patients or staff to limit transmission
In research and analytics, cohorting is used to create cohorts for longitudinal studies or for cohort analysis
In education and program design, cohorts are studies or groups that advance through curricula or activities
