Closteroviridae
Closteroviridae is a family of plant-pathogenic viruses within the order Picornavirales. These viruses are characterized by their filamentous, flexuous virions, which are typically 1,250 to 2,000 nanometers in length and 10 to 13 nanometers in diameter. The genome of closteroviruses consists of a single-stranded positive-sense RNA molecule, ranging in size from approximately 15 to 19 kilobases. This large genome encodes multiple proteins, including structural proteins that form the virion and non-structural proteins involved in replication and pathogenesis.
Closteroviruses are transmitted by insect vectors, most commonly aphids and mealybugs. They infect a wide range
