Cibalae
Cibalae was an ancient Roman city located in Pannonia Inferior. Its precise location is believed to be near modern-day Vinkovci in Croatia. The city played a significant role during the Roman Empire, particularly in the 3rd and 4th centuries AD. It was a strategically important settlement due to its position on trade routes and its proximity to the Danubian frontier.
The name Cibalae is thought to derive from a local Celtic or Illyrian word. Under Roman rule,
Cibalae is most famously associated with the Battle of Cibalae, which took place in 314 or 316
