Christkindlesmarkt

Christkindlesmarkt, or Christkindlmarkt, is a traditional Christmas market held annually in Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany. One of the oldest and most famous Christmas markets in Germany and Europe, its origins trace to the 16th century. The market center is the Hauptmarkt square, in front of the Frauenkirche, where hundreds of wooden stalls surround a large Christmas tree. Local specialties include Nürnberger Lebkuchen (gingerbread) and Nürnberger Rostbratwurst, as well as mulled wine (Glühwein) and seasonal decorations. The Markt is also known for decorative figurines such as Zwetschgenmännle, plum people, and a wide range of crafts and sweets.

A central feature is the annual opening by the Christkind, a traditional gift-bringer or angel-like figure who
