Chiromantie
Chiromancy, also known as palmistry (and, in some languages, chiromantie), is the practice of interpreting the palm of the hand to reveal aspects of a person's character and to forecast potential outcomes. Practitioners examine features such as the overall shape of the hand, the texture of the skin, and the lines and mounts on the palm to infer personality traits, health, and possible futures. In many traditions, both hands may be read, with some variations about whether the dominant hand represents inherited traits or present circumstances. The term chiromancy (often rendered chiromantie in some languages) derives from Greek cheir “hand” and manteia “divination.”
