Chiloés
Chiloés is an archipelago located off the coast of southern Chile, in the Los Lagos Region. The main island, Isla Grande de Chiloé, is the second largest island in South America and is separated from the mainland by the Chacao Channel. The archipelago is known for its unique cultural heritage, a blend of indigenous Huilliche traditions and Spanish colonial influences. This distinct identity is reflected in its architecture, mythology, music, and cuisine.
The landscape of Chiloés is characterized by rolling hills, dense forests, peat bogs, and a rugged coastline
Historically, Chiloés was one of the last regions in Chile to be fully incorporated into the nation.
