In plants, the primary cell wall is predominantly composed of cellulose, a polysaccharide that provides tensile strength. Archaea also have cell walls, but their composition is distinct from bacteria and eukaryotes. Some archaea utilize pseudopeptidoglycan, while others have S-layers made of proteins or glycoproteins. The unique cell wall compositions are crucial for the survival and adaptation of these organisms in various environments.
