CXCR3, also known as C-X-C chemokine receptor type 3, is a G protein-coupled receptor that plays a crucial role in immune cell trafficking and function. It primarily binds to chemokines such as CXCL9 (Mig), CXCL10 (Inducible protein 10, IP-10), and CXCL11 (I-TAC). These chemokines are often induced by interferon-gamma and are found in inflammatory sites.

When a chemokine binds to CXCR3, it triggers intracellular signaling pathways that influence cell migration, proliferation, and survival. Therefore, CXCR3expressing cells are often found in tissues undergoing inflammatory or immune responses.
