Variations within CIGS technology primarily arise from differences in the proportions of its constituent elements: copper (Cu), indium (In), gallium (Ga), and selenium (Se), as well as the specific deposition methods and device architectures employed.

These variations can significantly impact the performance characteristics of the solar cell, including its band gap, light absorption properties, carrier mobility, and overall power conversion efficiency.
