CHPjärjestelmiin

CHPjärjestelmiin is a Finnish term that translates to "CHP systems" in English. CHP stands for Combined Heat and Power, also known as cogeneration. These are integrated energy systems that simultaneously produce both electricity and useful thermal energy from a single fuel source. The primary goal of a CHP system is to improve overall energy efficiency by utilizing the waste heat that would otherwise be lost in conventional electricity generation.

The process typically involves burning a fuel, such as natural gas, biomass, or waste, in an engine or turbine to generate electricity. The heat generated during this process, which would normally be expelled into the atmosphere, is captured and used for heating purposes. This can include space heating for buildings, industrial process heat, or even cooling through absorption chillers.
