CFSAN

The Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) is a center within the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It is responsible for protecting public health by ensuring the safety and proper labeling of a broad range of products, including most foods sold in the United States, dietary supplements, color additives used in foods and cosmetics, and cosmetics themselves. CFSAN develops science-based standards and regulatory policies, conducts risk assessments, and enforces compliance through inspections, product recalls, and other enforcement actions.
