C1QBP
C1QBP, or complement component 1 q binding protein, is a conserved human protein encoded by the C1QBP gene. Also known as globular C1q receptor (gC1qR) and p32, the protein is broadly expressed in many tissues. It is localized predominantly in the mitochondrial matrix but can also be found in the cytosol, nucleus, and on the cell surface under certain cellular conditions.
Function and roles: C1QBP binds to the globular heads of C1q, a recognition component of the classical
Localization and interactions: gC1qR/p32 appears in several cellular compartments, allowing it to participate in diverse pathways
Clinical significance: Altered expression, mislocalization, or modification of C1QBP has been reported in certain cancers and
