Bürgermeister is the title of the head of the municipal administration in German-speaking countries, including Germany and Austria. The plural form, Bürgermeisters, refers to the individuals who hold this office across different municipalities. In smaller towns a Bürgermeister may serve as a part-time or primarily administrative leader.
