Bârsa

Bârsa is a commune in Brașov County, Romania, located in the historic region of Burzenland. The commune is situated in the central part of the county, in the southern reaches of the Perșani Mountains, and is crossed by the Bârsa River. Bârsa is composed of five villages: Bârsa, Hârseni, Mărgineni, Rotbav, and Vlădeni.

The area has a rich history dating back to ancient times. Archaeological discoveries have revealed settlements from the Neolithic period, as well as evidence of Dacian and Roman presence. During the medieval period, the region was part of the Kingdom of Hungary and later part of the Principality of Transylvania, being an important settlement within the Saxon Burzenland.
