Bâlea
Bâlea is a glacial lake located in the Făgăraș Mountains of Romania. Situated at an altitude of 2,034 meters (6,673 feet), it is one of the largest and most popular glacial lakes in the Southern Carpathians. The lake is fed by meltwater from the surrounding snow and ice, and its waters are known for their clarity and cold temperature. Bâlea Lake is a significant tourist attraction, easily accessible via the Transfăgărășan Highway, one of the highest and most scenic roads in Romania.
