Byurakan
Byurakan is a village in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia, located on the southern slope of Mount Aragats. It is situated at an altitude of approximately 1450 meters above sea level. Byurakan is most famously known for being the location of the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory, one of the most important astronomical research centers in the former Soviet Union and currently in Armenia.
