Aragats
Aragats is a dormant volcano located in Armenia, situated in the Aragatsotn Province. It is the highest peak in Armenia, reaching an elevation of 4,090 meters (13,420 feet) above sea level. The mountain is part of the Aragats Range, which also includes the peaks of Aragats I and Aragats II. Aragats is known for its distinctive conical shape and is a popular destination for hikers and climbers. The volcano last erupted around 1,200 years ago, and its last significant eruption occurred in 1278 AD. The surrounding area is rich in biodiversity, with various flora and fauna adapted to the high-altitude environment. Aragats is also a significant cultural and historical site, with numerous archaeological remains and traditional villages in the region. The mountain is often referred to as the "Mountain of Light" due to its prominent position and the way it reflects sunlight.
