Buoyantietrillingen
Buoyantietrillingen is a term used in Dutch-language discussions of fluid-structure interaction to describe a coupling between buoyancy forces and mechanical vibrations in a fluid-filled system. The word is a compound of buoyantie (buoyancy) and trillingen (vibrations). In this context, buoyantietrillingen refers to the phenomenon whereby oscillations of a structure submerged in a fluid modulate the effective buoyant force through pressure fluctuations, and conversely, buoyant forces drive or modulate vibrational modes of the body or surrounding fluid.
Physical basis: When a body immersed in a density-stratified fluid vibrates, the surrounding pressure field changes,
Applications and study: Buoyantietrillingen is of interest in marine engineering, offshore structures, and acoustic sensing, where
Limitations and terminology: The term is not widely standardized and may be used variably in theoretical discussions
