Bruinen

Bruinen, also known as the Loudwater, is a river in the northwestern region of Middle-earth, in Eriador, closely associated with Rivendell (Imladris). It flows through the Elven-held lands near Elrond's valley and is crossed at the Ford of Bruinen, a shallow crossing of strategic importance in the surrounding geography. The name Bruinen is Sindarin for “Loudwater,” reflecting the river’s swift flow and audible current in certain conditions.
