Brinzolamide
Brinzolamide is a medication used to treat glaucoma and ocular hypertension. It belongs to a class of drugs called carbonic anhydrase inhibitors. These drugs work by decreasing the production of a fluid in the eye called aqueous humor. When aqueous humor production is reduced, the pressure inside the eye, known as intraocular pressure, also decreases. Elevated intraocular pressure is a major risk factor for damage to the optic nerve, which can lead to vision loss and blindness.
