Brazilosaurus
Brazilosaurus is a genus of sauropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 88 to 83 million years ago. Fossils of this dinosaur have been discovered in the Bauru Basin of Brazil, which is why it was named in honor of its country of origin. The name Brazilosaurus combines the words "Brazil" and "sauros," the Greek term for lizard, reflecting its classification as a dinosaur.
The holotype specimen, designated as Brazilosaurus sanctipauli, was first described in 1998 by paleontologists Alexander Kellner
Like other sauropods, Brazilosaurus likely had a long neck and tail, a robust body, and four sturdy
The discovery of Brazilosaurus contributes to the understanding of sauropod evolution and distribution during the Mesozoic
