Bouskan

Bouskan is a traditional Moroccan card game played with a 40-card deck, a smaller version of a standard Spanish deck. The game is typically played by two to four players and involves elements of trick-taking and bidding. The objective is to win tricks that contain valuable cards, primarily the "Bouskan" cards, which are the ace, king, and queen of any suit.

The deck consists of four suits: spades, clubs, hearts, and diamonds. Each suit has cards numbered from 1 to 7, plus three face cards: the jack, the knight, and the king, and an ace. The game is played in rounds. Before each round, players bid on the number of Bouskan cards they expect to win. The player who wins the auction gets to declare the trump suit for the round.

In a trick, the highest card of the led suit wins, unless a trump card is played, in which case the highest trump card wins. Points are awarded for Bouskan cards captured in tricks. The game ends when a player reaches a predetermined score, usually 100 points. Bouskan is known for its strategic depth, requiring players to manage their hands carefully, anticipate opponents' moves, and make smart bidding decisions. It is a popular pastime in Morocco and is often played in social gatherings.
