Bottomfeeding

Bottomfeeding refers to a feeding strategy employed by a variety of aquatic organisms. These animals typically forage for food along the substrate, which is the bottom layer of a body of water. This substrate can be composed of mud, sand, gravel, or rock.

Organisms that bottomfeed have evolved specific adaptations to suit their lifestyle.
