Bocelli

Bocelli, full name Andrea Bocelli, is an Italian tenor and one of the best-known classical‑crossover artists in modern music. He has sold more than 90 million records worldwide and has performed at major venues and events around the globe. His work blends operatic arias, sacred songs, and contemporary pop melodies, appealing to audiences across classical and pop genres. He is also a prominent philanthropist through the Andrea Bocelli Foundation.

Born in Lajatico, Tuscany, Bocelli was diagnosed with congenital glaucoma and became blind by age 12. He began studying piano at age six and later pursued a law degree at the University of Pisa before dedicating himself to music full-time.

His national breakthrough came in the mid-1990s after a chance encounter with Luciano Pavarotti and a performance at the Pavarotti & Friends charity concerts. He gained international fame with the single Con te partirò and the duet album Time to Say Goodbye with Sarah Brightman, which achieved worldwide chart success.

Throughout his career, Bocelli has released numerous albums and collaborated with artists from diverse genres. His 2018 album Si introduced a broader set of collaborations and continued his tradition of crossover repertoire. In addition to recording, he has led charitable initiatives through the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, supporting medical research, disaster relief, and music education initiatives.
