Boardingkort

Boardingkort is a term used in several Scandinavian languages for the boarding pass, the document or electronic record that confirms a passenger’s permission to board a specific flight. It identifies the traveler and the intended journey and is used to verify eligibility during airport checks and at the gate.

A boardingkort typically lists the passenger’s name, flight number, date, departure and destination, and the seat assignment. It also includes the boarding gate, boarding time, and a unique booking or ticket reference. Most versions contain a machine-readable barcode or QR code that links to the passenger’s record in the airline’s systems.

Boardingkort can be issued as a paper document at a check-in counter or kiosk, or as a digital pass via an airline app, email, or mobile wallet. Passengers present the boardingkort at security checks and, when boarding, have it scanned at the gate to record entry onto the aircraft. In some airports, additional identity verification with a passport or national ID may be required.

Digital boardingkort or boarding passes offer conveniences such as instant updates for schedule changes and easier storage on mobile devices, while paper versions remain widely accepted by carriers. The exact appearance and features vary by airline and country, but the function remains the same: authorize boarding and help manage passenger flow.
