Blütenformen refers to the diverse shapes and structures exhibited by flowers. These forms are primarily determined by the arrangement and fusion of the flower's reproductive and accessory parts. The basic components influencing Blütenformen include the sepals, petals, stamens, and pistil. Variations in the number, size, shape, and adherence of these parts lead to a wide spectrum of flower morphologies.

Common Blütenformen include actinomorphic (radial symmetry), where the flower can be divided into symmetrical halves along multiple planes, and zygomorphic (bilateral symmetry), where it can only be divided along one plane. Examples of actinomorphic flowers are roses and daisies, while orchids and snapdragons are zygomorphic. Other classifications consider the fusion of petals. Polypetalous flowers have distinct, separate petals, while sympetalous flowers have fused petals, forming a tube or corolla.
