Bluraylevyjen

Bluraylevyjen is a Swedish term referring to Blu-ray discs. Blu-ray is a digital optical disc storage format designed for storing high-definition video resolutions, including 1080p and potentially higher. It was developed to supersede the DVD format, offering significantly greater storage capacity and improved playback quality.

The Blu-ray disc is similar in size to the DVD and Blu-ray disc, measuring 120 millimetres (4.7 inches) in diameter. However, it uses a blue-violet laser with a shorter wavelength (405 nanometers) compared to the red laser used by DVDs (650 nanometers). This shorter wavelength allows data to be stored more densely on the disc. A standard single-layer Blu-ray disc can hold 25 GB of data, while a dual-layer disc can hold 50 GB. Higher capacity formats also exist.

Blu-ray discs are commonly used for distributing movies and television shows in high definition. They also serve as a medium for storing large amounts of data and for video games. The introduction of Blu-ray discs marked a significant advancement in home entertainment technology, enabling a more immersive viewing experience with sharper images and superior audio quality compared to previous formats. The technology also supports advanced features such as interactive menus and bonus content.
