Birimlerde

Birimlerde is a Turkish term formed from birim (unit, department, division; a unit of measurement) with the locative plural suffix -lerde. It denotes location or scope within a system and can refer to either units of measurement or organizational divisions, depending on context. The form conveys that the action or description applies to multiple units or departments.

In Turkish, the singular form birim becomes birimler in the plural, and the locative plural suffix -de becomes -lerde when attached to the plural. Therefore birimler + de → birimler de, simplified as birimlerde in standard orthography. The word typically appears in noun phrases and can be combined with adjectives or relative clauses, for example birimler arasındaki farkler, birimlerdeki sorumluluklar, orölçüm birimlerinde.

Usage notes: In organizational contexts, birimler refers to sub-units or departments within an institution, and birimlerde describes actions, roles, or resources distributed across those units. In technical or scientific contexts, birimler may refer to measurement units, with phrases such as ölçüm birimlerinde indicating operations or standards within those units. When the emphasis is on a single unit, the singular form birimde is used, while birimlerde denotes multiple units.
