Biokrészletek

Biokrészletek, a term meaning "bio-details" in Hungarian, refers to the smallest individual units that carry genetic information within a biological organism. These are not to be confused with genes, which are segments of DNA that code for specific proteins. Instead, biokrészletek are conceptual units representing fundamental elements of inheritance, often described as the basic building blocks of heredity. The concept emerged from early genetic studies where traits were observed to be passed down in discrete, indivisible units. While the term itself is less common in mainstream genetics today, it reflects an important historical perspective on the nature of inheritance before the molecular mechanisms were fully understood. It highlights the idea that traits are not blended but rather transmitted as distinct entities.
