Binnendijk

Binnendijk is a Dutch term used in water management to describe an inner dike that forms part of the dike system surrounding a polder or other low-lying land area. It runs on the landward side of the interior water or drainage basin and helps delineate protected land from water bodies within the polder complex. The binnendijk often serves as a boundary between adjoining polders or between a polder and surrounding higher ground.
