Bezobratlých

Bezobratlých is a Czech term referring to invertebrates, a broad category of animals that lack a vertebral column or backbone. This group encompasses a vast diversity of life forms, making up over 95% of all known animal species. Invertebrates can be found in virtually every habitat on Earth, from the deepest oceans to the highest mountains.

The phylum Arthropoda, which includes insects, arachnids, crustaceans, and myriapods, represents the largest and most diverse group of invertebrates. Other major invertebrate phyla include Mollusca (snails, clams, squids), Annelida (segmented worms like earthworms), Cnidaria (jellyfish, corals, anemones), Echinodermata (starfish, sea urchins), and Porifera (sponges).

Invertebrates play crucial roles in ecosystems. Many are primary producers or consumers, forming the base of food webs. They are essential for pollination, decomposition, nutrient cycling, and as a food source for vertebrates.
