Betacarbons

Betacarbons are a class of organic compounds that are characterized by the presence of a carbon-carbon double bond. The prefix "beta" refers to the position of this double bond relative to a functional group or a specific reference point in the molecule. In organic chemistry nomenclature, carbons are often numbered starting from the atom directly attached to the functional group, which is designated as alpha.
