Bestowanese is a constructed language associated with the fictional Bestowa Archipelago. Created as part of world-building for literature, games, and media, it is designed to be learned as a second language by fans and to serve as a distinct cultural marker for the Bestowan people. The language features a largely analytic grammar, a moderate sound inventory, and a Latin-based writing system.

Phonology and writing: The phoneme inventory includes five vowels and about 25 consonants; syllables are typically CV or CVC. Stress usually falls on the penultimate syllable. Writing uses a Latin alphabet with diacritics to indicate vowel length and quality.

Dialects and usage: There are several regional varieties within the fictional setting, including Northern and Coastal dialects, which differ in pronunciation and minor lexical items but remain mutually intelligible. Everyday speech favors straightforward constructions, while formal speech uses polite pronouns and honorifics.

History and status: Bestowanese was developed in the late 20th to early 21st century by language enthusiasts and writers involved in its world-building. It has since appeared in multiple media projects and has learning resources such as phrasebooks and online courses. It is not a natural language and has no native speakers, but functions as a linguistic artifact within its fictional ecosystem.
