Bestandstabelle

Bestandstabelle, or stock table, is a record used in inventory management to document the items held in stock, including quantities, locations, and monetary value. It supports stock control, replenishment decisions, and financial reporting by providing a consolidated view of material on hand.

A Bestandstabelle typically includes fields such as item number, item description, unit of measure, warehouse or storage location, quantity on hand, quantity allocated or reserved for orders, quantity on order, reorder point, safety stock, batch or lot number, expiry date when applicable, unit cost or price, and total value (quantity on hand multiplied by unit cost). Some implementations also track last update date and movement history. The table may be organized per location or across the entire enterprise.

Data for a Bestandstabelle is usually sourced from an enterprise resource planning system or a spreadsheet, and is maintained through regular inventory counting, goods receipt, and goods issue processes. The table is used to generate reorder recommendations, flag stockouts, perform cost accounting, and support financial statements. It serves as a key reference for both operational control and management reporting.
