Belastningsförlust
Belastningsförlust, often translated as load loss or burden loss, refers to the reduction in efficiency of an electrical device or system when it is operated under load compared to its ideal or no-load state. This phenomenon is particularly relevant in transformers and power generators. In transformers, belastningsförlust arises primarily from resistive losses in the windings, known as copper losses, which increase with the square of the current. Additionally, core losses, or iron losses, which include hysteresis and eddy current losses, are also present and are largely independent of the load but depend on the voltage. The total belastningsförlust is therefore a combination of these factors.
For power generators, belastningsförlust can encompass various energy dissipations. These include resistive losses in the stator
