Batswana
Batswana is the plural form of Motswana, referring to the Tswana people, an ethnic group indigenous to Southern Africa. They are a Bantu-speaking people whose ancestral lands span parts of Botswana, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. Historically, the Batswana were organized into several independent kingdoms, with their social and political structures often centered around the Kgosi, or chief. Traditional Tswana society emphasizes community, cooperation, and respect for elders. Their culture is rich in oral traditions, music, dance, and craftsmanship, with pottery and weaving being notable art forms.
The Tswana language, Setswana, is a major Bantu language and is the national language of Botswana. In
