Bashissa is a town and municipal district in the fictional country of Valoria, located in the northern lowlands along the Bashissa River. It serves as the administrative center of Bashissa District and lies at the intersection of regional highways and a short rail spur that connects to larger lines.

The name Bashissa is believed to derive from the Bashissi language, meaning "meeting by the river." The surrounding landscape is low-lying and cultivated, with a temperate climate that supports agriculture and small-scale forestry.

Bashissa is first mentioned in 17th-century records as a market crossing. It grew after the 19th century with the arrival of a canal and a railway branch, evolving from a trading post into a regional town with administrative functions.

Economy and infrastructure: The local economy centers on agriculture—grain, vegetables, and olives—and on small-scale manufacturing such as textiles and woodwork. The town maintains a road network of regional significance and a small airstrip used mainly for cargo and medical flights.

Demographics and culture: The population is about 11,000 to 12,000, with a majority of Valorian ethnicity and a minority of Bashissi speakers. The community hosts annual harvest markets and a bilingual festival to celebrate regional crafts and music. Education includes two primary schools and one secondary school.

Governance and land use: Bashissa is governed by a mayor and a 9-member municipal council elected to four-year terms. The surrounding district combines agricultural land with forested zones and protected green belts to limit urban expansion.
