Basekraft

Basekraft is a term used in speculative physics and science fiction to denote a hypothetical, primordial energy form or field that underlies physical interactions. The word blends base with kraft, the latter meaning force in German, signaling its proposed role as a fundamental substrate of reality.

Conceptually, basekraft is imagined as a pervasive field or reservoir from which other forms of energy and forces can be derived or tapped. In fictional settings, devices designed to access basekraft enable propulsion, matter manipulation, or instantaneous communication, and can act as a power source for weapons or computational systems. In theoretical discussions, researchers may use basekraft as a toy model to illustrate how complex phenomena like particles and forces could emerge from a single underlying medium. It is not part of established physics and has no empirical confirmation.

Proposed properties vary by author. Commonly, basekraft is described as isotropic and universal, present throughout space even in vacuum.
