Bartolini, or Bartolinians, refers to the followers of Lorenzo Bartolini, a prominent Italian sculptor of the neoclassical and early romantic periods. Bartolini was born in Savignano di Prato in 1777 and studied in Florence and Paris. He gained significant recognition for his works, which often emphasized grace, elegance, and a refined sense of idealism. His style, though rooted in neoclassical principles, began to incorporate a greater emotional expressiveness, foreshadowing the Romantic movement.
