If the term is intended to indicate a barium-containing ferrite, the closest well-known material is barium ferrite, BaFe12O19, a hard ferrimagnetic oxide that adopts a magnetoplumbite-type structure and is widely used in permanent magnets and data storage. BaFe12O19 exhibits high magnetic anisotropy, high coercivity, and a relatively high Curie temperature. In ferrite chemistry, many barium-containing phases exist and may adopt magnetoplumbite, hexagonal, or perovskite-like frameworks, but the exact phase must be confirmed with crystallographic data and literature citations.
