Bariqs

Bariqs are a fictional species native to the planet Xylos in the Kepler-186 system. They are an intelligent, bipedal race distinguished by their tough, chitinous exoskeletons which range in color from deep violet to metallic bronze. Adult bariqs typically stand between 1.7 and 2 meters tall and possess four upper limbs, two of which are more dexterous and used for fine manipulation, while the other two are stronger and used for locomotion and heavier tasks.

Their sensory organs are located in a cluster on their heads, featuring compound eyes capable of perceiving a broader spectrum of light than humans and sensitive antennae that detect atmospheric vibrations and chemical signatures. Bariqs communicate through a complex series of clicks, whistles, and subtle shifts in their exoskeleton's coloration. Their society is highly communal, organized into large, interconnected hive-cities built underground to protect them from Xylos's harsh solar radiation.

Bariq technology is advanced, with a particular focus on bio-engineering and energy manipulation.
