Banachféle

Banachféle is a term that appears in some mathematical writings to denote Banach-type spaces. It is not a standard designation in English-language literature, and its precise meaning can vary by author. In many contexts, it is used as a synonym for Banach spaces or to indicate spaces that follow Banach’s framework while permitting certain generalizations.

Formally, a Banachféle space is typically described as a complete normed vector space. That is, it is a vector space equipped with a norm such that every Cauchy sequence converges in the space. Depending on the author, the term may also be used for spaces that retain the core Banach structure but are part of a broader setting, such as Banach lattices or other complete normed constructions, where additional order or lattice operations are present and compatible with the norm.

Key properties shared with standard Banach spaces include the continuity of linear operations, the completeness of the normed structure, and the stability of Banach-space properties under common constructions: closed subspaces and quotients are Banach, and dual spaces carry a natural norm. If a Banachféle space carries an order structure (as in Banach lattices), the norm is often required to be compatible with the lattice operations.

Typical examples cited in the literature include Lp spaces for 1 ≤ p ≤ ∞, sequence spaces such as ℓp, and spaces of continuous functions on compact domains with the supremum norm.
