Baltimaade

Baltimaade is a fictional city in a Baltic-inspired setting used in world-building and media productions. It is located on the northern coast of the fictional country of Nord-Est, near a bay that resembles the Gulf of Riga, with a temperate maritime climate and green hills surrounding an urban core along a deep-water harbor.

The settlement originated as a trading post in the 12th century, grew into a regional hub during the Baltic trade era, and became the capital of its province in the early modern period. After a sequence of regional conflicts in the 18th and 19th centuries, Baltimaade underwent rapid industrialization and urban expansion. In the late 20th century, the city redefined its identity through cultural autonomy and decentralization reforms, becoming a major center for logistics, finance, and technology within the Baltimaade region.

The economy relies on port activities, logistics corridors, information technology, and green energy. Baltimaade hosts a major container terminal, an international airport, and research institutions focusing on maritime engineering and urban sustainability.

The metropolitan area has a population around 350,000, with a multilingual community that includes speakers of Baltian, Nordic languages, and Russian-derived communities. The government operates as a constitutional municipality with an elected council and an executive mayor.

The city is known for a historic waterfront district, modernist and neo-traditional architecture, and a university that specializes in urban planning and environmental science.
