Balansbegrotingen, often translated as balance sheets or financial statements, are fundamental tools in accounting and financial management. They provide a snapshot of an entity's financial position at a specific point in time. A balance sheet consists of three core components: assets, liabilities, and equity. Assets represent what an entity owns, such as cash, inventory, and property. Liabilities represent what an entity owes to others, including loans and accounts payable. Equity, also known as owner's equity or net worth, represents the residual interest in the assets of an entity after deducting all its liabilities.
The fundamental accounting equation, Assets = Liabilities + Equity, forms the basis of every balance sheet. This equation
